MATTHIAS CONTZEN

Biography

The work of Matthias Contzen could be understood as a metaphor of the creation of the universe, letting the viewer free to name his own oneiric perception. But where are we ? In front of the earth or in front of a remote planet ? However, his work is meaningful to us, it is its paradigm. The artist drives us into the fantasmatic of his work and its organic reflections. Matthias Contzen invits the viewer to observe his sculptures in a personal way by tempting to resolve the mystery to which we are guests.

‘The spectator has to let his imagination and his curiosity guide him towards his own subjectivity’.
