Presentation

Galerie Dutko is pleased to present Miscellanea, a solo exhibition by the French artist Gérard Titus-Carmel, on view from January 22 to March 6, 2026. Bringing together around fifteen works produced between 1995 and the present, the exhibition offers a sensitive, retrospective view of the practice of this major figure in French contemporary art, inviting a deeper understanding of the singularity of his work.

Demanding and meditative, Gérard Titus-Carmel’s practice explores notions of disappearance, fragmentation, and memory through bodies of work often conceived as true visual scores. He develops a profoundly personal language composed of pared-down forms, rhythms, and silences, in which drawing occupies a central place.

Alongside his visual practice, Gérard Titus-Carmel is also a poet and essayist, maintaining a constant dialogue between text and image. An unpublished text by writer and art critic Marc Blanchet will accompany the exhibition catalogue. Present in numerous public and private collections, the artist embodies a practice that is both intellectual and sensitive, where formal rigor is joined with a deep reflection on time, perception, and the act of creation.
