Biography

Lucas Talbotier paints the memory of landscapes. Behind an apparent abstraction, with a few figurative markers, the painter captures the essential—the trace left by lived experiences. His pictorial work revolves around a sensitive attention to light, the arrangement of colors, and the balance of forms that are both simple and expressive.

“I enter painting through landscape and nature. There is a reflection on memory and the way to suggest, with a brush, memories and lived moments. We remember only a few things. So I focus on those memories—the rest is a great light that settles on the canvas like a veil.”

Lucas Talbotier was born in 1994 in Paris, France. He lives and works in Paris.
He graduated from the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and also spent a year studying at the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States as part of his program.
