Expositions

Tying and burning—not mere actions, but processes that invite deep reflection on the principles of creation and deconstruction. Thus, Christian Jaccard’s works will be the focus of a series of exhibitions in the south of France that will run throughout the summer.

LA COOPÉRATIVE - MUSÉE CÉRÈS FRANCO

(20th June 2026 - 3rd January 2027)

To mark the reopening of La Coopérative - Musée Cérès Franco in Montolieu (Village du Livre et des Arts au coeur de l’Aude), the group exhibition “Les Aventuriers de l’Œil-de-bœuf” will open. Christian Jaccard’s work “BRN” will thus be part of an exhibition that already promises to remain faithful to the dynamic and open spirit of the Brazilian gallerist and art critic Franco Ceres, to whom the new center is dedicated.

MUSÉE DU HIÉRON

(11st July 2026 - 3rd January 2027)

Based on the same principle of the Combustions series, “Combustion VII” (1989). The artwork will be on view at the Musée du Hiéron in Paray-le-Monial (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) as part of the exhibition “Saisies de la présence”.

MUSÉE DES BEAUX-ARTS DE LYON

(11st September 2026 - 14th March 2027)

Finally, a major event will feature Christian Jaccard in dialogue with Marcel Duchamp, André Breton, Joseph Cornell and many others. The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon )- in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou - will celebrate "Le Musée sentimental”. This exhibition aims to explore one of the central aspects of 20th-century art: artists’ practice of collecting everyday objects and integrating and displaying them as works of art. In this context, Christian Jaccard’s “Outilitaire 12 Outils” is a perfect example of how a simple object can become a gateway to our inner world, allowing us to journey through sensations, memories and emotions.
